Next, you travel to the the storied Basque country to explore the traditional villages, beautiful sea views and the exciting new chefs of the region. Discover the hidden alleys and corridors of a picturesque Medieval village.
Join us for a “food festival day” of bar hopping for tapas and pinxos, an historical stroll through the old town, a traditional basque meal custom designed so you can try the best of the best, and a lovely walk on the crescent beach in the culinary mecca of San Sebastian and the charming nearby village of St Jean de Luz.
Gold leaf artichoke filled with foie gras and toasted hazelnuts? Check. Lollipops of crusty langoustine? Check. Smoked hen (smoking as it is served to you under glass)? Check…Would you like something more traditional as well? Of course you would. That’s why we offer you the caramelized roast pork, the tuna tartare on tomato bread and the plates of traditional hams and regional cheeses. Didn’t mention your favorites yet? Don’t worry, we will show you about 100 other varieties of tapas (or, to be more precise, Pintxos) to choose from. Yum!
September 17: Arrival: 1 per 4 people transfer in from San Sebastian train station or airport, check in, area privately guided walking tour and gourmet multi course Basque meal with Spanish wines. 3-7pm (private room for dining experience). Plan to arrive by noon so you don’t miss any of the fun!
September 18: Visit and walk through historic San Sebastian and our version of a food festival: This is an all day experience full of foods and wines and talk.
September 19: Luxurious private tasting menu of course after course and wine after wine for a relaxed ‘girls lunch’, and festival, shopping or beach day. Option to visit to the charming seaside town of St Jean de Luz (additional cost)
September 20: Departure for Barcelona
Our trip to the Basque country includes 3 nights in San Sebastian with a day trip to either St Jean de Luz or Bayonne (TBD). We include a food festival day and historical tour that is truly one of a kind, and as well as offering you experiences both in traditional Basque cuisine and our favorite Michelin starred spots.

Overview: How we create our trips and itineraries
This trip is being custom designed around the guests attending. Clients have the chance to book this trip before our daily itinerary is created in detail. Early bookers will get input into wine experiences and meals. Those of you who know Bliss Travels know that the food and wines will be world class, and that the itinerary will be unique. Guests who book after this point will have input into the specific menu options and wine tasting choices as always, but not the itinerary.
NOTE: Order and specific items might change but the type, number and quality of the items will be the same.
Included in trip: All lodging (luxury boutique lodging), all private ground transportation to/from included activities and private transfers via private car to/from airports/train stations and between cities, daily gourmet breakfasts in San Sebastian and 1 in Barcelona, all of the listed gourmet meals and wines with meals (including Michelin starred meals, off menu dining and private dining), top level wines for wine tastings, including some vintage bottles. All privately guided experiences listed above. All pre trip planning for a customized experience, personalized itineraries and help with booking trains.

Two Rate Choices:

Nonrefundable rate: Price for 6 nights in Spain, is $5,175 per person/double room. $1000 deposit to book. Nonrefundable rate. Final payments due by May 1, 2021

New Partially refundable rates for travel during 2021 only: Price of $5,375 per person and a $1,500 initial and nonrefundable deposit. This rate allows you to cancel for any reason and have your final payment refunded in the form of a travel credit if cancellation is made by May 15, 2021.. This offer applies only to the partially refundable rate and this rate requires an initial deposit of $1500 per person. The initial $1500 deposit is nonrefundable. All other payments be made on time and in full. Late payment or late requests void this offer. Refunds do not apply to “add on days” or to train tickets or special private transfers.
Please note that these credits are offered with specific limitations. We cannot take the place of insurance, no matter which rate you choose. Please insure for last minute issues, personal problems or other eventualities.
The trip includes everything described above as included (luxury lodging, private guides, private transportation, listed meals, listed tastings, admissions, custom itineraries etc). Some inclusions can be removed to make the trip more moderately priced. Room upgrades are extra.
ALL final payments due received by by 5/1/21. Late payments void any offers or travel credits.
