I’ve been thinking and talking about it for as long as I can remember..’I want to go to Paris for an extended stay and pretend I live there’. Well, it’s going to happen. I leave my home on February 4, and from February 5 through April 2 I’ll call Paris home.

I’ve got lists galore about what to bring, what not to bring, arrangements I need to take care of before I leave, cat instructions for my husband. I’m excited and nervous at the same time. I’ve been to Paris many times before, but this time will be different. Aside from a handful of family and friends who have already committed to visiting I’ll be on my own.

I plan to walk all over the city – but not in white sneakers, thank you – and finally have the time to explore those little streets, shops and cafes that have always intrigued me in the past. A side trip to Brussels is in the plans, and possibly a Chunnel visit to London. Mont St. Michel and the Normandy coast is the plan for my husband’s visit.

I missed the cut-off for registration for the Paris half-marathon, but I’ll be a spectator for sure…a change for me. I have plans to visit every open-air market in the city. And of course, the food and wine…

And I’ll be blogging a lot about my experiences so make sure to check back often. Any suggestions will be appreciated!
